"The purpose of life is to live it, to taste it, to experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.

Service Learning in Tanzania

July 2016- A 14 Day Service Learning Experience

We have teamed with Education First Tours and Free the Children, an international charity working to empower and enable youth to be agents of change.

Tanzania is home to a warm and welcoming culture.  It’s people, varied environmental ecosystems and rich animal life make it a place of tremendous beauty.

However, the children of Tanzania need the worlds’ help.  Many lack the basic necessities for survival that a lot of us take for granted. Millions lack water, food, education and access to  healthcare.

The focus of our journey would be to assist the struggling children of this beautiful land.  This would be a rugged experience and some of our work might include building schools, digging wells for fresh water, constructing hospitals or teaching English.  This is not a touristy vacation.  Our motivation is to help give back to those that are truly in need of our help.

You should also be prepared for accommodations that might be ‘slightly’ different than you’re used to. Sleeping in a tent, not having two showers a day, using an outhouse and no electricity are all realities of life you should be prepared for.

There will be time to explore the country and have an experience that many Westerners only dream about. Some of the activities include festivals with the local villagers, hikes and a safari in the Ngorongoro Crater

*This is not an experience for everyone.  You must provide a written personal statement and receive a nomination from a teacher to be considered. We are looking for someone who possesses great character, leadership skills and enthusiasm for helping others.

We hope you can make this life altering expedition with us in July 2016!

“I hope you have an experience that alters the course of your life, because after Africa, nothing has ever been the same.”

-Suzanne Evans
